In this article we'll explain how you can manage bar and restaurant orders with BMI Leisure
Our F&B module includes the possibility to take orders for your bars and restaurants and manage the orders as you might have different bars and different restaurants at your venue.
First of all, we have the concept of floor zones. Floor zone is an area of your venue that can be bowling area, reception area, bar area etc.
You can take orders from POS located in the different areas of the venue or at the table with the Mobile POS function. When an order is made, it will be sent to the correct bar or kitchen by printing the order on a Ticket printer located there.
Each bar or kitchen doesn't need to have a PC there but will just need to have a network Ticket Printer installed so it will be able to receive the orders automatically.
If you want to read more about the Order Ticket you can read this article.
To redirect the order to the correct bar or kitchen, you will need to setup a print routing system. It is basically a list of rules when you need to define:
- where the order is made from : which area/floor zone (optional when you just have one bar or kitchen)
- Bar or Kitchen Printer where the order has to be printed
- Where the order will be served : in case if the order will be served on a specific table located on a specific area( this is important only when you use the order at the table option using Mobile POS)
Here below a schema of a few standard use cases that we can cover - it is an example of routing Bar orders.
Configuration
To configure it you will need to :
- configure floor zones (not strictly necessary if you have one bar or restaurant)
- configure the print routing rules
- configure the correct print routing under the products or product group.
