Configure the Com-Port of the decoder in the BMI-Leisure Timing system

Introduction

If your decoder is connected directly via comport to your PC, you need to setup the comport on the decoder configuration in the system. In case it changes you can also follow these steps.

Steps

You need to know first what is the right com port of the decoder. To find out, go to “device manager” in windows. (shortcut if you can not find it: Press Windows+X to open the menu, and choose Device Manager on it)

In this list, you have all of the connected devices. If you have multiple Comports and you are not sure which one is the correct one, you need to :

  1. Note which comports are connected
  2. Unplug the decoder from the PC
  3. Check which Comport is missing(This number we require)
  4. Plug the decoder back.
  5. Now you should know which Comport is the one you need.

Configuration

  1. Open the ‘Menu’ in the top right corner of the application.
  2. Go to System -> Environment ->  Devices.
  3. Look for the computer where the decoder is connected.
  4. Double click on the correct decoder.
  5. On the “port” field, type the number of the com port.
  6. Click on save.
